Surround Air XJ-2000 Ionizer purification systems make it economical to place a unit in each part of the home, which allows each part of the home to be within range of a source of negative ions and ozone. The limitation faced by all air purifiers, regardless of how powerful they are, is that they are not very effective beyond the room or area where they are placed. This is due to the fact that walls, ceilings, floors, doors, and even distance serve as major barriers.

2. Negative Ionization for Entire Home.
Negative ions cannot travel beyond the room where they originate, regardless of how powerful the ionizer is. This is due to the fact that they remain alive for only up to 30 seconds once created. As a result, air ionizers rated for large areas still ionize no more than 500 square feet at the most.

3. Proper Ozone Levels.
Since Surround Air XJ-2000 Ionizer and ozone air purifiers are only designed to purify a single room or area, they produce only enough ozone for a single room or area. They can safely and effectively cover spaces as small as the inside of a vehicle, and as large as 500 sq. ft. of open space. Since they only attempt to provide enough ozone for a smaller area, the ozone level will still be appropriate even if it becomes trapped in a smaller space, such as a single room.
Larger air cleaners create enough ozone for much larger areas, but much of this ozone is often trapped within an area substantially smaller than what the unit was rated to cover. This can easily result in excessive ozone levels. Surround Air Ionizers produce between .02 parts per million (ppm) to 0.04 ppm (max), which is well within FDA and OSHA standards of 0.05 ppm.

4. More Effective than Air Filters (e.g. HEPA).
Negative ions and ozone can remove particles from the air of a much smaller size than filters can. In addition, negative ionizers and ozone air purifiers cover a room or area far more thoroughly than a filter. Only a small portion of the floating particles in a room will pass through a filter.

This is very simple to do, and will take about a minute or two. (2) Every 3 to 6 months, it is suggested to wipe or blow off the dust off the circuitry on the inside of the unit.
